Thanks to my father-in-law, I am obsessed with Stieg Larsson’s books. I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and now I’m on The Girl who Played with Fire. And I’m actually considering buying a PAPER book from the UK since The girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest isn’t going to be out in the US for a while. This goes against my whole digital I’m off paper trek and it hurts me to my core but these books are amazing. The content is really disturbing as it deals with murders but the way he writes pulls you in…and the references of technology are really…well …precious. Stieg had a soft spot for Macs and its obvious in his writing. I haven’t been this gaga over a writer since Caleb Carr (Alienist and The Angel of Darkness specifically).

What’s really tragic is Stieg was a graphic designer who wrote these books in his spare time. He died of a massive heart attack before his books were published…never knowing how much his words are obsessively consumed around the world.
